Young MC, Guinness World Records and Richard Simmons? It's all in a day's work!
On January 30, 2010, Revolve joined over 750 dedicated fundraisers for a record-breaking, money-raising, booty-shaking event that would change the face of Nova Scotia's breast health system forever. Through a powerful partnership with the QEII Foundation and the IWK Foundation, Bust a Move inspired a movement that would raise enough money to purchase life-saving digital mammography equipment capable of screening 75% more women every single year.
Spending their days designing innovative communications strategies, and their nights blending creativity and fundraising for boob cupcake telegrams and ‘80s rock performances, the uplifting energy of Bust a Move swept through our office as Revolve teams raised over $17,000. Add to that a social media strategy that exceeded aggressive targets within the first month and landed #bustamove as a trending topic for Canadian Twitter users; a flash mob video with over 25,000 views on YouTube that earned province-wide media coverage; and a strong visual identity that captures the excitement and empowerment of the event, and you can understand how proud we are of our team's accomplishments as communicators, designers AND fundraisers.
Congratulations to event organizers on inspiring hundreds to push themselves for the cause, and the thousands more that donated over $1.14 million to bring world-class mammography equipment to Halifax! While we eat back some of those burned calories and pack away the Dolfin shorts for what we hope is a long time, we invite you to look back on the incredible Journey and Fond Mammaries.
